Business Writing and the Project Manager
with Richard Brady
Strong communication is a critical skill for successful project management. This course focuses on developing clear, concise, and grammatically correct business writing tailored to project-based environments. Participants will learn how to effectively communicate with stakeholders, document project updates, and convey complex information in a professional and easy-to-understand manner.
This course is designed to complement other Project Management offerings at St. Johns River State College by strengthening one of the most essential—yet often overlooked—skills: written communication.
Please note: This is not a PMP® certification course. PMP exam preparation is offered separately through SJR State.
Ideal for current project managers, professionals working in project-based roles, and individuals aspiring to earn their PMP credential, this course will help elevate the quality and impact of your written communication in any professional setting.
Healthcare Analytics-From Raw Data to Real Life Use Cases
with Dr. Nidhi Goel
This hands-on course introduces students to the foundational principles and practical applications of healthcare analytics, with a focus on transforming raw data into meaningful insights that support decision-making across the healthcare ecosystem. Students will learn to work with diverse healthcare data—understanding its structure, cleaning and preparing it, conducting analytical procedures, and presenting findings clearly to stakeholders.
In addition to technical training, the course explores the application of analytics in multiple healthcare business functions:
● Marketing: Segment patient populations, optimize outreach, and evaluate campaign effectiveness
● Customer Acquisition & Engagement: Analyze patient behavior, improve access strategies, and personalize service offerings
● Finance: Forecast costs, assess ROI on health programs, and support budgeting with data-driven insights
● Contracting: Support value-based care arrangements, analyze payer performance, and inform contract negotiation using historical data Key Topics:

Students will receive up-to-date training and instruction in the areas of basic CPR administration; choke relief; proper Automated External Defibrillator (AED) operation; and the role of each in the chain of survival. Manufacturing Prep Accelerated Program – Taking Ongoing Registrations Through June 30, 2026
The Manufacturing Prep Accelerated Program (MPAP) prepares you for the Certified Production Technician 4.0 (CPT) designation with hands-on exercises and instructor training.
Topics covered are:
Safety
Quality Practices and Measurement
Manufacturing Processes and Production
Maintenance Awareness
Students also earn OSHA 10 and First Aid/CPR/AED credentials. Those who pass the CPT certification exams earn 15 credits (one semester) toward the Associate in Science degree in Engineering Technology.
Additionally, participants will make valuable connections with regional employers and receive career assistance. This short-term training program connects participants with local firms and quickly increases their employability for manufacturing production and quality assurance positions.
Operation Next Florida is a partnership between the Florida Department of State and LIFT, a public-private partnership between government, industry, and academia.
The program offers Florida residents FREE training in advanced manufacturing skills. It puts trainees on strong career paths with opportunities to land high-paying, in-demand jobs throughout the state.

Eligible participants will be enrolled at no cost through the support of Operation Next Florida.

Classes are self paced and can begin within a week of registration
Students will have access to flexible lab time of 4 hours a month at our Palatka Campus, as well as virtual online support with an instructor to support learning
Class can be completed within 6 months of starting
